The Trae Cotner Memorial Fund for Children Affected by Drug Overdose was created after the loss of our precious son Trae on 4-29-2018 to a methamphetamine/fentanyl overdose.
Trae always had a great love for the children but most importantly his own Treasures, his three daughters. There was not one thing he wouldn't do to try to make his daughters lives better. It was always the small things with Trae. He wanted to be there if he said he would, he would follow through with assistance at the school or homework if he said he would, he would sit and listen if there was an issue... and always try to bring the girls a smile, no matter what it took. Trae would give the last of what he had to any person in need and not think twice about himself doing without. That is the selfless, giving, compassionate person he was.
That is why we want to continue his legacy of always being available for the children and their needs.
We service Trae's Treasure's, the children, impacted by Drug Overdose whether the parent/caregiver is deceased or is gone temporarily to a rehab facility, prison, disabled or incapacitated (on life support). We want to off assistance to fill the void in the needs the kids have for school, social life, even grief support connections. We are also on a mission to prevent substance abuse and offer educational resources for the children and caregivers/parents to bring awareness to substance abuse so that they know how to say "NO"!

The Mission of the Trae Cotner Memorial Fund for Children Affected by Drug Overdose is to help fill the void when a child loses a parent/caregiver to a drug overdose OR if a parent/caregiver has a drug overdose and recovers and then is absent due to rehabilitation, prison, disabled or incapacitated.
We are here to assist with cost of school supplies, clothing, after school costs, summer programs, sports fees, etc. Wherever we can help to maintain some normalcy for the children during their time of grief and beyond.
